Super-luxury projects were in full swing from the 1970s, gaining massive momentum in the next 30 years, with iconic, more modern complexes making their mark on the remaining land after 2000. The architecture was mainly along the Addison Mizner lines relying on Mediterranean and Spanish-revival inspiration. The following represents the superior caliber of Highland Beach in numerous verticals, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg:

Highland Beach Homes

Ocean Place Estates - Single Family private beach houses in a billionaires’ neighborhood with watertight privacy and seclusion selling at over $13 million. Not far behind is Ocean Place Villas representing the same theme with palatial townhouse models going for between $5 million and $8 million.

Bel Lido Isle, in contrast, has zero HOA oversight (and $0 fees) with 71 homes directly on the Intracoastal or on adjoining canals with 125’ boat docks in their backyards. Custom builders have reshaped the community with ultra-modern houses starting at $2.5 million and ranging to $14 million (depending on location and homeowners’ visions).

Highland Beach Condos

For condo lovers of communities constructed after the turn of the century, Toscana is an impressive full-service option that auto travelers through Highland Beach can’t miss. Many Highland Beach neighborhoods are between thirty and forty years old, the groundbreakers that led the “gold rush” to lay a stake in the limited availability of Highland Beach real estate starting in 1970. However, buyers will discover that since then HOAs have undertaken significant renovations.

Highland Beach real estate may lead on privacy, but every resident is still within a few minutes drive from Delray Beach and Boca Raton downtown areas, offering non-stop vibrant activity and a good school districts (see below). Indeed, they can access whatever their neighborhood lacks in conveniences like upscale shopping, banking, healthcare facilities, gas, private education, and beauty salons in its flanking cities.

Notably, the billion-dollar Boca Resort and Club, a famous leisure and relaxation destination nearby, is open to new members. Finally, Highland Beach homeowners can access golf courses, watersports, pilates, and yoga classes within a three-mile radius.
